We are all out there with them, our team. We juke and cut with them, pivot, pick, spin and score with them. We feel every check. I’ve worked in the sports business for decades, and I’ve never lost the excitement of game day mornings, that sensation of nervous energy, that anticipation for the face off.
I’ve been there, in the arena. I’ve stood with you, shoulder-to-shoulder, taking in every moment of the game and feeling your passion. I know the electricity, the current that charges through the crowd. We’re not there to watch a game, we’re there to experience it. For us, the stakes are high and we love it. We don’t want our team to win, we need them to win and won’t accept anything less. It is a communal experience – we come in groups and meet others like us wearing the same colors. We talk strategy, trade stats, share stories from our playing days. Strangers become friends, friends become family. And like families, we have pride and tradition, and we grow together.
This past year the NLL has grown a lot – upgrading the viewing experience by launching NLL TV, signing a groundbreaking digital streaming partnership with Twitter, bringing on the best equipment from our partners at Team 22, String Kings and Warrior/New Balance, redesigning the league logo to create a modern NLL brand, and launching a brand new website with dynamic video that brings fans closer to the game than ever before.
Because that’s our goal – getting fans closer to the game, making that feeling of game day last longer. I have the best job in the world because I get to live that feeling every day. As League Commissioner, I’m proud of our growth, but it’s not about me, it’s about the fans and our teams. We know how special this game truly is and together we’re going to continue to do great things.
